Privacy Policy

1. Who this service is for

Overhaul is built for students aged 12 and above, parents, homeschoolers, educators, and workshop trainers. It is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 13, do not create an account. If you are 13 to 17, a parent or guardian should review this policy with you. Educators who invite students to use Overhaul are responsible for obtaining any consent required by their school or organisation.

2. Data we collect

We collect the following when you sign up or use the product:

• Account: email address, password (stored by our auth provider, not in plain text), optional Google account details if you use Google sign in, and the role you select (parent, educator, trainer, or student).
• Project content: chat messages, uploaded photos and files (for example component photos), generated templates, wiring diagrams, firmware, and related metadata such as the AI model used.
• Billing: plan type, credit balance, and payment records. Card numbers are handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card details.
• Usage: session cookies, approximate device and browser information, and product analytics (pages visited, feature use).

3. How we use it

• Create and authenticate your account
• Generate templates, diagrams, slides, and code from your prompts
• Save chat history and credits so you can continue a project
• Process subscriptions and credit purchases
• Prevent abuse, debug failures, and improve the product
• Send account email such as signup confirmation (we do not sell your data)

4. Processors

We use third parties to run the service. They process data only to provide that function:

• Account and storage: authentication, database, and file storage for accounts, chats, and generated files
• Hosting: website hosting, content delivery, and product analytics
• AI generation: third party model providers that turn your prompts and uploads into text, diagrams, and images. Do not paste secrets or other people’s personal data into chat.
• Payments: checkout, invoices, and subscription billing
• Google sign in: only if you choose “Continue with Google”

If you connect a third party parts supplier account, that provider processes the connection under its own terms.

5. Cookies and sessions

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. Analytics cookies or similar identifiers may be used to understand how the site is used. You can block cookies that are not essential in your browser; the product may not stay logged in without essential cookies.

6. Retention

We keep account, chat, and billing records while your account is open, and for a reasonable period after closure if needed for security, accounting, or legal reasons. Generated images may be stored so your projects remain available. You can ask us to delete your account data as described below.

7. Your rights (including PDPA)

If you are in Singapore, you have rights under the Personal Data Protection Act, including to request access to or correction of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where applicable. You may also ask us to delete your account. Email or write to us via overhaulsg.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. Some records (for example paid invoices) may be retained where the law requires it.

8. Security

We use HTTPS, hashed credentials via our auth provider, and access controls on the database. No internet service is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
